Originally named for the ‘manly’ activity of hunting, many homes now incorporate hunter green for decorating. Back in the old days, when the men folk went out to hunt, their attire would be a darker shade of green to help them blend into their surroundings (think of it as the earliest concept camouflage). So the name evolved from hunter’s green to hunter green.
